Preparedness Month!

Date

September is Preparedness Month!

The #30days30waysUK national preparedness and community resilience campaign encourages people to be better prepared for emergencies.

You can follow the campaign via the hashtag #30days30waysUK on social media for daily posts of preparedness activities to think about.

September is a great time to consider your preparedness as we move into autumn and winter, with the risk of more severe weather. More extreme weather is becoming more frequent due to climate change and so we must ensure our communities are prepared for events such as flooding, storms and extreme heat/cold. You can watch a Met Office Climate Conversation video on the latest ‘The state of the UK climate reporthere.▶️

We're keen to keep climate change adaptation at the forefront of our work in the district and you can see how we're doing this through our new Sustainability Strategy. 💚
